Frankfurt möchte, als eine der ersten Städte Deutschlands, Zero Waste City werden. Was genau bedeutet das? Wirklich gar kein Abfall mehr? Zero Waste meint „keine Verschwendung“. Und damit weniger Müll. Genau dies ist das Ziel unserer groß angelegten Dafür gibt es viele interessante und motivierende Aktionen und Angebote. Wir möchten dich zum Mitmachen ermutigen. Zagreb Plastic Prevention Plan: ban single-use, refill the city
From city buildings to hospitality venues Zagreb adopted a Plastic Prevention Plan as part of the ERIC project: one of the most comprehensive municipal plastic policies in the Western Balkans region. The plan bans single-use plastics across all city-owned buildings and institutions and combines that with public infrastructure to make reuse the easy default. Buy time for beech and oak that will never be logged Forest Forever Foundation / Las Na Zawsze joined the European Rewilding Network in July 2026. The foundation purchases and legally locks mature private forests into the Polish Preservation Project, then plants diverse native stands that are left to self-regulate. What you can do - Support a named forest parcel via Las Na Zawsze or the Polish Preservation Project - Ask your workplace or neighbourhood group to fund a hectare that stays open to the public and free of commercial logging - Follow ERN peer learning on natural regeneration and biodiversity monitoring How it works Biologists identify high-biodiversity stands; benefactors fund purchase and a notarial act that blocks future felling. New plantings use mixed native species, never monocultures, then nature takes the lead. Why it matters Scattered mature woods become a connected wild inheritance when neighbours and businesses treat them as commons, not inventory. Nearly thirty years of wetland repair have restored about 1,200 hectares of wetlands, more than 30 kilometres of side channels, and 1,500 hectares of grazing land in south-west Slovakia.
