Swap skills on Wellington Timebank

Swap skills on Wellington Timebank Wellington Timebank lets neighbours trade an hour of help for an hour of credit across the region. The network is hosted at Newtown Community Centre and spans more than a thousand members sharing everyday skills. What you can do in Wellington - Apply online, complete the justice check, and attend a monthly introduction session to start trading (Wellington Timebank) - Post offers and requests on the member platform: mowing, language practice, lifts, cooking tips, and hundreds of other exchanges - Earn credits when you help someone else; spend them when you need support without using money for that hour - Join as an organisation member if you run a community centre or farm that already mobilises volunteers How to join Membership is free. The organiser suggests an optional yearly donation near twenty dollars for those who can contribute. Under-16s need a parent member to support their account. Why it matters in Wellington Market prices skip much of the care work that holds streets together. Timebanking names that work, then makes it easy to give and receive. Good to know - How does timebanking work? One hour of help equals one time credit, no matter what skill you share. - Is there a fee to join? No joining fee; donations are optional and do not block membership. - Do I have to live in Newtown? No. Members join from suburbs across the Wellington region.
