How long we keep your data
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile and published content will be deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Session data in your browser is cleared when you sign out or clear your browser storage.
Solarpunker may store a local offline cache of public pages and assets on your device so the app shell still opens when your connection is unstable.
Processors and third-party services
We use the following services to operate Solarpunker. Each processes data on our behalf or independently when you use their functionality:
- Supabase (database, authentication, file storage) — data is stored in EU regions. Supabase Inc. is a US-based company and participates in applicable data transfer frameworks. See supabase.com/privacy.
- OpenStreetMap tile servers — when you view the map, your IP address is transmitted to OpenStreetMap tile server operators. See osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.
- Mailgun — sends transactional emails and weekly city digests on our behalf. See mailgun.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- External image hosts — editorial demo listings, the landing inspiration strip, and user-submitted idea images may load from third-party CDNs. On Netlify, images may be fetched via our first-party Image CDN (/.netlify/images), which still retrieves them from the upstream hosts below. Loading images may transmit your IP address, browser data, and referrer to those operators.
- Unsplash — hosts stock photos used on some idea cards and landing imagery. See unsplash.com/privacy.
- Pexels — hosts stock photos used on some editorial seed listings. See pexels.com/privacy-policy.
- Wikimedia Commons — hosts freely licensed photos when used; individual files may require attribution in the listing text. See wikimedia.org privacy policy.
- Rewilding Europe — hosts official editorial photos on some rewilding seed listings; individual images may require photographer credit in the listing text. See rewildingeurope.com.
- WILDCARD project — hosts official project imagery on Horizon Europe rewilding research seed listings. See wildcard-project.eu.
- The Rewilding Institute — hosts official programme photos on North American rewilding seed listings. See rewilding.org.
- Global Rewilding Alliance — hosts official editorial photos on Global Rewilding Alliance seed listings. See globalrewilding.earth.
- Rewilding Argentina — hosts official partner photos on South American rewilding seed listings. See rewildingargentina.org.
- Altyn Dala Conservation Initiative — hosts official partner photos on Central Asian rewilding seed listings. See altyndala.org.
- Rewilding Oder Delta — hosts official partner photos on Oder Delta rewilding seed listings. See rewilding-oder-delta.com.
Where third-party services are based outside the European Economic Area, data transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Every notification email includes its own secure unsubscribe link. You can also open the unsubscribe page , which will confirm the change when you arrive from one of our emails.
Your rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and data portability where applicable. You may object to certain processing and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Contact us using the details in the Impressum.
