Visit Onkel Emma queer community house in Braunschweig

Onkel Emma is Braunschweig's queer community house, run by Verein für sexuelle Emanzipation e.V. since 2011. Groups, café afternoons, talks, and open evenings share Echternstraße 9, behind Michaeliskirche. The house is open to all residents who respect the space, not only queer visitors.

How it works

Volunteers keep the house running. Third-party listings sometimes show Tuesday to Friday 14:00 to 18:00. The organiser site does not publish a standing timetable, so confirm hours with Onkel Emma. Solarpunker does not hold the keys.

A known street-level room makes queer culture and neighbourly care easier to find in the city centre.
