Trial traffic calming with mobile green

Test a greener curb before permanent rebuild

Mobiles Grün lets neighbourhoods try converting a parking or traffic strip into stay-space with planters and seating. After a successful trial, cities can lock in lasting greening. Fast, reversible, and cheaper than guessing.

What you can do

  • Ask your Ortsbeirat or district office for a timed parking-bay greening pilot
  • Partner with schools or Bürgerinitiativen to staff watering and weekend presence
  • Document who uses the space, then push for permanent unsealing if it works

How it works

Mobile containers and parklet-style kits occupy curb space for a set period. Neighbours live with the change, then decide together whether to keep it.

Why it matters

Streets learn in public. A temporary green bay is how communities prove cooler, quieter blocks without waiting for a full rebuild.
