ITP Prizren, innovation park in a former barracks

Start-ups, makerspace, and 2,000 students on one campus

The Innovation and Training Park (ITP) Prizren redeveloped a former KFOR barracks into Kosovo's leading tech and creative hub. ICT firms, the University for Business and Technology campus (~2,000 students), and Makerspace Innovation Center (3,000+ youth trained) share fibre, workshops, and incubation services.

What you can do

  • Founders in Kosovo: apply for ITP tenancy or Makerspace incubation programmes
  • Western Balkan builders: visit the park to study barracks-to-campus conversion
  • Employers: hire from UBT Prizren and Makerspace alumni pipelines

How it works

GIZ supported feasibility and setup until 2024; a Kosovan management team now runs daily operations with continued cooperation on advisory services.

Why it matters

Peacekeeping sites can become peace-building economies, hardware, code, and classrooms under one roof.
