BUND Naturschutz Kreisgruppe Regensburg stewards Donauinsel Mariaort, a Danube island meadow in Pettendorf. Volunteers scythe and rake; the city office on Dr.-Johann-Maier-Straße is the indoor door, not the work site.

• Offer meadow care (scythe and rake) via Donauinsel Mariaort
• Join the Aktivenliste if you prefer a regular crew
• Help in the office or at public events if island days do not fit your week

How it works

Island care is seasonal meadow work. Call the Kreisgruppe office (Mo to Do 09:00 to 12:30, 0941 23090) before you travel to Pettendorf.

Why it matters

A scythed Danube island keeps space for lizards, devil's-bit, and dragonflies within reach of Regensburg.
