Repair Café im Gasteig (Fat Cat) in Munich
Bring one cleaned household item (toaster, lamp, hairdryer, kettle) in Munich. Volunteers help you open, screw, and understand the fault. You are a guest, not a customer. Sessions are free; donations welcome. The café does not take phones, tablets, computers, coffee machines, printers, TVs, large appliances, or bikes (except light cables).
How it works
Register on the Gasteig Repair Café page (recommended until 14:30; leftover slots may open after). Sign a short liability note at the desk and take a number. About 30 minutes per item. New repairs usually stop before closing. Unfinished jobs can return next Tuesday. Young people aged 15 to 27 in Riem can also join MachsGanz repair education.

- Fair weather: outside by the Werkzeugbibliothek, Rosenheimer Str. 5, 81667 Munich
- Poor weather: Community Kitchen Café, Gasteig / Fat Cat
- Recurring weekly; check holiday closures before travelling
