What you can do at Mt. Takao
- Sign up for the next posted session (undergrowth, trail, or play-area tasks) via the online form (2026 forest volunteer schedule)
- Arrive by 9:15 on your first day for safety briefing; 9:30 start for returning volunteers
- Take the bus from Takao or Nishi-Hachioji station as each listing notes
How to join
Submit the form at least three days before your chosen date. Capacity is roughly thirty-five people per session.

Why it matters at Mt. Takao
Trail volunteers keep the forest edge open for hikers and the species that live under the canopy.

- What if the day is stormy? Organisers may postpone; watch for email after you register.
- Can teens join? Junior high and older are welcome; contact the school for younger family plans.
