Seongdong Sharing Center runs Repair Cafe Seongdong on the fourth Saturday afternoon each month in Seoul.
What you can do in Seongdong
- Pre-register on the sharing centre website, then bring one broken gadget or household item (Seongdong Sharing Center profile)
- Work at shared benches with Gongbanjang volunteer fixers who coach, not replace, your hands
- Use centre tools and common supplies; buy specialty parts yourself if needed
How to join
Residents, workers, and students in Seongdong may apply online or by phone as the district describes. Arrive on time with your item and any parts you already sourced.
When & where
Recurring: fourth Saturday, 13:00 to 16:00, local time. Seongdong Sharing Center, 10 Haengdang-ro 6-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul 04750 (second floor repair space).
Why it matters in Seongdong
Fixing beside neighbours turns a sharing library into a weekly habit, not a one-off rental.
Good to know
- Is every repair finished on site? Complex faults may need a return visit or parts order; mentors explain limits upfront.
- Can I become a fixer? The centre recruits Gongbanjang volunteers with repair hobbies year-round.
