Wikimedia Hackathon 2027 coding days run 9–11 April in Tirana - register when mid-January signup opens on mediawiki.org.
What you can do in Tirana
- Watch the Hackathon 2027 wiki for venue and registration updates
- Prepare a laptop with Gerrit/GitHub access and a test wiki instance
- Join newcomer onboarding sessions listed on the wiki schedule
How to join
General registration opens from mid-January 2027 per the organiser timeline. Scholarships use separate forms when announced.
When & where
Tirana city centre area (41.3275, 19.8187 approximate Skanderbeg vicinity coordinates). Anchor 9 April 2027, 07:00 UTC for hackathon opening day.
Why it matters in Tirana
Shipping patches from the Balkans reduces single-region bias in MediaWiki tooling defaults.
On the day
Arrive ten minutes early to read house rules at the door and greet a volunteer before seats fill.
Good to know
- Do I need a visa for Albania? Check your nationality's rules early; invitation letters may help scholarship recipients.
- Which hotel area? Skanderbeg and Blloku are walkable to many centre venues; confirm when the wiki publishes the hall.
