Plastic-free gatherings, at scale
Lyon introduced reusable containers at public events across the metropolis, replacing single-use cups and food packaging at festivals, markets, and outdoor gatherings. The programme received funding through CITEO's call for expressions of interest and is part of Lyon's broader Zero Plastic Prevention Plan under the ERIC project.

How to participate
- Event organisers in Lyon: contact Zero Waste France or Lyon Métropole's sustainability office to join the reusable container network
- Visitors to Lyon events: look for the reusable container collection points and return your cup after use: the system relies on participants completing the loop
- Other municipalities: use Lyon's CITEO-funded model as a reference for your own application
