A new project bringing composting infrastructure to apartment-block residents
Following the success of Urban Garden Podgorica, Zero Waste Montenegro launched Urban Garden Pomorandza with Ministry of Ecology funding. The project implements organic waste separation in an urban residential area: building a community garden with a large composter in front of a residential building, running educational activities, and distributing kitchen waste bins to residents of surrounding apartment buildings.
Where
- Podgorica, Montenegro (Urban Garden Pomorandza residential block area; approximate pin at city centre)
How to participate
- Residents of the Pomorandza neighbourhood: pick up a kitchen waste bin at the community distribution point and participate in the organic waste separation system
- Podgorica residents: follow Zero Waste Montenegro for garden open days and composting workshops
- Municipalities: the Ministry of Ecology funding model can potentially be replicated: contact Zero Waste Montenegro for the project template
