A community-led cleanup that left permanent infrastructure behind
Residents of Svilengrad's Roma neighbourhood co-organised a large community cleanup with the municipality, collecting 1,700 kg of waste in a single day. After the cleanup, the municipality installed permanent separate collection bins in the neighbourhood: ensuring that the one-day effort translated into lasting infrastructure. This follow-through is what distinguishes the Svilengrad model from a typical cleanup event.
