GIZ Hinweisgeberportal, report concerns safely

External partners and the public can speak up

GIZ runs a Hinweisgeberportal (whistleblower portal) for possible rule violations, including human-rights impacts in projects and supply chains. External partners, clients, the public, and staff may report, including anonymously. Independent compliance officers and an external ombudsperson provide neutral contact points.

What you can do

• Suppliers and subcontractors: use the portal if you observe human-rights or integrity concerns in a GIZ-funded project
• Community groups: share the reporting link with partners who hesitate to speak through official channels
• Workplace organisers: compare your organisation's grievance mechanism to UN Guiding Principles effectiveness criteria

How to participate

• Submit a report via Hinweise geben (also available to non-employees)

Why it matters

Low-threshold reporting protects people affected by development work, visibility builds trust.
